Continually we see Google sending hints and clues to online marketers about how critical mobile advertising is becoming. Many companies still are not getting it and this could be your loophole to getting on top of your competition. Try something quickly, pull out your smartphone and type in your compeditors… Did you see their site? Is it friendly to use on a mobile device? Didn’t think so. No matter what “surveys” you have looked at recently over the past 6 months saying that corporations have been pouring millions of dollars into the mobile market, the fact of the matter is that most companies haven’t and this can benefit you and your company greatly.
I know, you just got your web presence up a few months to a year ago and now things are already changing. Times will continue to change and online marketing will do the same as we as consumers continue to demand a more instant “personalized” search. We as customers watch movies and love the fact that we “in the future” talk into a headset and our results come to us instantly and with that personal touch. The time has come where we are beginning that era and you can be one of the first to be on your game to maximize your company’s potential. The outcome is endless and we will continue to paint this picture of what a more personal internet is going to be, don’t be on the back seat of the bus, let’s decide where we’re going.
Early September, Google announced that “the number of advertisers running mobile ad specific campaigns has more than doubled since January 2011,” most of those”new” advertisers still have the poor looking, unfriendly, user hating web pages that drive customers away… maybe to your site!
How is Google going to help get the word across you ask? Google announced that they will factor an advertiser’s mobile presence (site or landing page) into the ads quality score for all mobile campaigns.
Google went on to add that “mobile only” campaigns drive just under 12% more CTRs than standard AdWords via the PC.
What can you look forward to? Records show that by the year 2015 (Hey, that’s only just over 3 years away) there will be more mobile internet users than PC users. This is based on the alarming rate that consumers are trading in their laptops/PCs for mobile devices which include SmartPhones, Tablets, etc.
